Scope and Contents

The bulk of this collection concerns the Bernard Society of Mathematics, which is the Davidson Mathematics honor society. The Bernard materials include copies of "Review", the society newsletter, programs and transcripts from guest lecturers and programs and speech transcripts from the founding of the society in 1991. The collection also contains departmental brochures and a booklet titled,"Essentials of College Algebra" which is a algebra tutoring book, complete with problem sets. The letter from Allen Wolf addresses students' lack of "basic analytical skills" and "higher math". There are also files on grants, space needs and reports as well as flyers for Math Coffees and speakers sponsored by the department.
