Biographical / Historical
The Royal Shakespeare Company spent a two week residency at Davidson College in February 2002. In addition to giving performances of The Merchant of Venice, the Company offered master classes and worked with area schools. The residency also included a special dedication of the Duke Family Performance Hall in the Knoblach Campus Center. The Company returned to Davidson for a second residency in March 2005 giving performances of Two Gentlemen of Verona and Julius Caesar. The RSC returned for a residency at Davidson from January 23 until February 4, 2006. During that time it offered many different workshops, classes, and public events.
