While a student at Davidson College, Aubrey Neblett Brown, Jr. kept a scrapbook of his experiences. Of particular note is his documentation of a trip that he and three friends made by car from Davidson to Mineral Springs, Texas. Information and photographs from the trip may be found on pages 43 and 53-55 of the scrapbook. Also, Brown was an amazing correspondent and kept copies of many of his letter home, describing events at Davidson and his student experience, particularly as a freshman. These letters may be found on pages: 19-23, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34, 35, 38, 42, and 46. Information on the college servant known as "Doc" Charlie is found on page 33 and 35. Information on the rebellion of the students caused by the firing of the editor of the Davidson College Magazine in 1926 may be found on page 73. In the file marked "Miscellaneous," one will find Aubrey Neblett Brown, Jr.'s personal calling card, his freshman pin, his commencement invitation from Union Theological Seminary, and copies of the By-Laws of the General Alumni Association of Davidson College, Rules and Regulations for 1927, Wildcat Handbook for 1926. One also will find copies of the Metropolitan Opera Company Musical presented in 1930 at the Richmond Mosque, and copies of "Engravographs", a publication by the Charlotte Engraving Company in 1928. In the file marked "Correspondence," one will find a letter dated 1925 from Brown to his parents, as well as a variety of other letters from Brown to his family in Texas. Several of these letters appear to have been written while Brown was at Union Theological Seminary as a student.
