Biographical / Historical

These file were created in 1998 as part of an independent study project conducted by Gabriel Cumming, then a student at Swarthmore. The project, "Values and Land Use in Mecklenburg, Iredell and Catawba Counties of North Carolina" was based upon oral history interviews. A separate photo essay "Religion and Property in a Changing Landscape" was also created as part of the project. The interviews and photographs document attitudes toward land and religious faith and how those areas can intersect.
