Scope and Contents
The collection consists of his Davidson College scrapbook. The scrapbook contains pages of autographs and notes from classmates, brief diary entries, photographs of campus, newsclippings, along with some correspondence and postcards, programs, and intelligence test and annotated maps of the Middle East. The Sophomore Banquet program is signed by members of the class and there is a Junior Speaking program booklet for the class of 1926. Extra materials not pasted into the scrapbook are housed in separate folders.

Biographical / Historical
Wade Hampton Allison was born in Statesville, NC on June 16, 1901. He grew up in Statesville until age 16 when his family moved to Washington, DC. He entered Davidson in the fall of 1922 planning on a career as a minister. While a student, he wrote for the Davidsonian and Quips and Cranks. He was a member of the Glee Club, Reporter's Club, Eumenean Society, Spanish Club, Sigma Upsilong and Ministerial Band. He attended Union Theological Seminary and was ordained as Presbyterian minister in 1929. He held pastorates at Leaksville and Wilmington, NC and at Flemington, GA. His last church was in Rose Hill, NC. He died in March 1963.
