The files contain a letter from Mrs. Jane Harris Nierenberg, a medical ledger (1796-1807), and a typescript of portions of the ledger entries. The ledger entries include names, treatments and payment information. The typescript provides the names and dates for payment entries and occasionally comments about the payments.
These papers consist of a typescript of anecdotes written by Dr. Vinson in 1953 relaying his experiences as a student, at a tuberculosis sanitarium in New York state, at Montreal General Hospital, with the medical corps in Italy during World War I, and reminiscences of colleagues at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Vinson titled the typescript, "Doctors I Have Known."
