Biography

James Raeford was born in Fayetteville, NC to Fred and Leler Raeford. He attended Bull City Barber School in Durham, NC and earned his barber license. In 1957 Raeford began working at Ralph Johnson's barbershop in Davidson, NC. He married Daisy M. Raeford in 1959. In 1969 Mr. Raeford began selling cars—working at dealerships in Charlotte and Gastonia. In 1976 Mr. Raeford renewed his barber license and began cutting hair at Potts Barbershop in Cornelius, NC. In 1993 Mr. Raeford opened his own barbershop on Main Street in Davidson, NC. James Raeford passed away in 2019.
