Biography
Mildred grew up in Mooresville, NC. She married Wilburn Arthur "Wib" Thompson of Davidson, NC in 1934. Wilburn managed the Southern Cotton Oil Company in Davidson. Mildred was an active member of the Davidson College Presbyterian Church. She worked as an administrative assistant for Davidson College during the late 1950s and 1960s. Her son, William A. Thompson, graduated Davidson College in 1963.

The Davidson College Community-Based sub-group consists of oral histories and interviews that explore the history and culture of the Town of Davidson and other local communities. The sub-group contains interviews with long-time Davidson residents, select college faculty and staff, alumni/ae who called the area home, and representatives from community organizations.
