Biographical Note

The 1850 Slave Schedules list the Lacys as owning a 48 year old enslaved woman. This may refer to "Aunt" Maria, but there is no way of confirming this information as it could also refer to "Aunt" Amy. Maria is referred to in the AUGUST 6, 1856 letter by Mary Lacy.
