Scope and Contents

This colleciton contains information about the Humanities program including brochures, correspondence, syllabi, and grant proposals. The NEH grant folder contains the proposal and materials presented to the NEH in 1985. The purpose of the grant was to obtain money which could provide salaries for more professors and allow for faculty leave. The syllabi are from Dr. Houchens' art history lectures to the humanities classes in 1962. The lectures traced art history from its prehistoric, Egyptian, and Mesopotamian origins through Van Gogh and artists of the early 20th Century.
