Biographical / Historical

In 1985, a presidential task force on the Future of Computing at Davidson was established. In addition, committees on the Academic Uses of Computers and Administrative Uses of the Computer were formed. In 1997, the Committee for Administrative Information Technology requested that a new group be formed with broader representation. That group became the Joint Committee on Information Technology . This committee reports to the college president and is responsible for establishing policies related to the use of computers and computer networks across the campus. Subcommittees include Lan Area Network Administrators, Desktop Standards, Web Oversight, Banner Team Leaders, and Strategic Planning.
