In this collection there are 9 issues for the Hot Davidsonian covering June 25-Aug 20, 1953 and June 23-July 14,1954. Most issues are 2 pages long with no illustrations. There is only one issue of the Little Davidsonian, June 15, 1954 (volume 3, number 2) and much of the issue is focused on co-eds attending summer school. There are 2 issues for the Summer School Davidsonian. Printed in the summer of 1956, the issues do not have individual dates. Issue number three has a large cartoon tied to a humor piece complaining about food. There are 4 issues of the Bobtail Davidsonian for 1957 and included in the file is 6 page handout, The College Union Welcomes You to Summer School" that includes an issue of the paper. There are 9 issues of the Bobtail Davidsonian for 1958, most are only 1 page. There are five issues for the 1961 Only in Summer School paper although at least ten issues were printed that summer. All of the papers announce upcoming events and have humor and joke pieces."

Biographical / Historical

Davidson has held summer school classes occasionally throughout its history. The members of the summer classes often produced condensed versions of school publications. Examples of these publications include Hot Davidsonian, The Little Davidsonian, The Summer School Davidsonian, Bobtail Davidsonian and Only in Summer School.
