Scope and Contents

The 1982-1983 folder contains fliers announcing Amnesty International's events. There are also little slips of paper that served as correspondence to the members to announce events. The 2005-2006 folder contains e-mail correspondence within Amnesty International that discussed meeting times, funding requests, and the planning of events, such as A Night of a Thousand Dinners to raise money for Adopt-A-Minefield and bringing in speakers. The oversize materials are posters for events.

Biographical / Historical

Amnesty International campaigns world-wide to promote for human rights outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international standards. The Davidson chapter was founded in 1982. Projects for the group include letter-writing campaigns, fund- raisers to help pay for landmine clearing and also sponsering human rights speakers.
