Biographical / Historical
The Muslim Student Association (MSA) was created by Mujahid Idlibi, Class of 2004, during the 2003-2004 academic year. The MSA's primary objective is "promote peace, tolerance, and understanding amongst people of all faiths, regardless of their religious convictions" and clarify misconceptions about the Islamic faith and Muslim people through cultural events such as celebrations of Ramadan and securing a room for group prayer. The constitution also states as objectives to "help muslim students at Davidson acclimatize to the college environment, raise awareness about Islam among the Davidson community, promote friendly relations with other religious organizations on campus, and provide resources for students to practice Islam."
