Scope and Contents

The collection contains historical sketches of the fraternity. There is a copy of the original constitution from 1883 and also a revision from 1989. The minutes date from 1883-1888 and 1957-1967. There is correspondence from 1981-1992. There are addresses to the society from 1988-1991, which include toasts to the society. Membership information from 1986-1994 includes the names and hometowns of pledges as well as providing a photo of each pledge. There is information about the activities of the group, which include a library endowment, a Mother's club, the Martin Lectureship in 1968, and service to the community. The printed material includes general information about the group, copies of the "NC Theta News" newsletter from 1974-1985, copies of "The Lion's Roar" from 1987-1991, rush publications from 1952-1956, and party invitations. There is also restricted information about expenses. The oversize folder contains a 1921 copy of "Theta Thoughts" and copies of "Casque and Plumes" from 1939-1951 and two scrapbooks (1983-84, 1984-85) of photographs of fraternity events.
