Scope and Contents
The collection contains treasurer's records from 1950-1952. It also contains copies of the letterhead and envelopes used by the society. In addition, correspondence between the United Literary Film society and various film companies, such as Films Incorporated, Contemporary Films Inc., and Brandon Films Inc. are found in the collection. The Constitution of the United Literary Film Society is also located in the collection. Invocies and receipts from ordered films are also found in the collection.

Biographical / Historical
The United Literary Film society was founded at Davidson College in 1950. The purpose of the society was to bring to the Davidosn student body and faculty a program of films of particular excellence and interest -- art films, literary films, documentary films, historical films, and geneal films of extraordinary merit. Membership was open to all members of the Davidson College student body, faculty, administration, and members of their families upon payment of the membership fee. Members were charged a fee of $1.00 per movie.
