The collection contains biographical information, correspondence, a complete bibliography, a manuscript, printed material relating to honors and awards presented to him, photographs, and a scrapbook. The biographical information includes sketches prepared by Dr. Rose, articles published about him, obituaries, and alumni questionnaires. There is correspondence from 1922-1984 which includes correspondence from the alumni office and letters concerning his awards and honors, including correspondence with former vice-president Hubert Humphrey. There is a complete bibliography and a copy of his doctoral thesis, "Studies in Intermediary Metabolism." There is a copy of a children's story written about Dr. Rose by his cousin, Peggy Rose Day, entitled "Let Them Eat Crystals." The printed material contains numerous certificates awarded to Dr. Rose as well as newspaper articles discussing his awards. There are also photographs of Dr. Rose. The scrapbook was presented to Dr. Rose in 1955 and contains photographs of friends and coworkers as well as their comments. The oversize folders contain diplomas and certificates awarded to Dr. Rose. The artifacts consist of medals, lapel pins, and plaques presented to him.
