Biographical / Historical

George Laurens Petrie was graduated from Davidson College in 1859. He was a member of the Philanthropic Society. He attended Columbia Theological Seminary and served as a chaplain in the Confederate Army. He was a pastor in Greenville, Alabama, Petersburg and Charlottesville, Virginia.
