Scope and Contents
The collection consists of a letter written to Miss Cornelia Shaw, librarian of Davidson College. The letter gives some family history and describes college life and the faculty in the 1860s. Biographical / Historical
Henry Chambers was a member of the Davidson College class of 1864. He enlisted in the Confederate Army in 1861. He taught in Morganton, North Carolina and then became a lawyer. He served in the Tennessee House of Representatives and as a state senator.
