Biographical / Historical
John W. S. Gilchrist was graduated from Davidson College in 1915. After graduation, he taught and attended Columbia University. He served in the 104th Aero Squadron during World War I and published a history of the unit and a personal memoir, "The Aerial Observer in WWI."
