Biographical / Historical
Dandridge Spottswood Burwell as a member of the Davidson College class of 1865. He left college to enlist in the Confederate Army in 1863. He served in the Medical Corps and artillery service. After the Civil War, he became a merchant in Norfolk, Virginia.
