Biographical / Historical
The Rev. W.P. Williams was born in Martin County. He moved to Davidson, N.C. in 1872 when he married his third wife, Margaret Johnston Withers. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He was the first mayor of Davidson, N.C. serving from 1884-1889 and 1891-1895.
