Scope and Contents

The collection consists primarily of correspondence relating to her real estate and business investments from 1898 to 1934. While the correspondence is fairly routine, it does reflect economic changes during World War I and the Depression. There are also letters from Davidson College students written during World War I. The students were Jack M. Black (class of 1918), Harry D. Williamson (class of 1919), and Irwin P. Graham (class of 1908). There are also some financial records of Bynum Stirewalt, newspaper clippings on family history, and photographs and a privately published 1972 genealogy of Paisley and Allied Families by Oscar Paisley. The volume contains some family stories and photographs along with the charts. James Porter Paisley appears on page 1207.
