The collection consists primarily of minutes, reports, and newsletters. There is also a file on correspondence and one on newsclippings related to the organization. The reports include a Downtown Revitalization Plan prepared by Greenberg Development Services in 1989, a revitalization study ini 1990 and a 1994 report on growth in Davidson.

Biographical / Historical

The Downtown Davidson Organization was organized in 1989 to address issues related to the revitalization and development of the downtown area. An outgrowth of the Downtown Davidson Business Association and the Downtown Davidson Development Organization, the DDO is concerned with special events, promotions, business recruitment, amenities and downtown viability. Committees deal with such issues as parking, town safety, economic development, and promotions.
