Scope and Contents
This collection contains eleven letters written from France during World War I by Charles Montgomery to Miss Cornelia "Cornie" Fore of Charlotte. The letters were written between June and September of 1918 (one undated).
Biographical / Historical
Charles Montgomery, Davidson College Class of 1909, served in World War I and was killed in action in October of 1918. While at Davidson, he was a member of the Eumenean Society and Kappa Alpha fraternity. Between Davidson and his service in the war he worked as an attorney in Atlanta, Georgia.

Betty Irvin 122B Ridgeside Terrace Morganton, NC 28655 Ms. Ervin is the niece of Cornelia "Cornie" Fore, to whom the letters from Mr. Montgomery are addressed.
