Oral history interview with Leslie Brown '69. Meikaela Zwieryznski, Davidson College class of 2010, interviewed Leslie Brown, Davidson College class of 1969, on November 7, 2009 in Davidson, North Carolina. Leslie Brown was on the Davidson College campus for an alumni office event taking place that week. Brown discusses his experiences as one of the first black students enrolled at the college, his relationships with the local community and other students, academics and faculty dynamics, and the impact of Davidson on his life and career after graduation. Specific references include Patterson Court, the Richardson Scholars Program, integrating Ralph Johnson’s barber shop, biology professor Dr. Puckett, and fellow students Wayne Crumwell, Leon Terry, Calvin Murphy, and Mike Maloy.
