John Filar was the head coach for the Davidson College women’s basketball team from 1992 to 2001. Filar recounts the evolution of the Davidson College women’s team in the time he’s served as coach, and what changes he and his coaching team have put in place to make the team more successful. He then talks about how Title IX has impacted women’s sports at Davidson, as well as how incorporating male players into practices for the women’s basketball team has improved their game. The interview concludes with Filar and Dwyer speaking about the difference between the coaching styles of male and female coaches in women’s sports.
