Scope and Contents

The collection consists of manuscript copies of speeches given by Belk in Philanthropic Society meetings and a photostat of a letter written as a student. The speeches include Valedictory and Farewell addresses to the Philanthropic Society, addresses on Female Education and British Poets, and a poem "Marry."

Scope and Contents During his student years at Davidson College, Cooper kept a student scrapbook. The scrapbook covers the years from 1919-1923. Information on various R.O.T.C. camps including Camp Henry Knox (Kentucky) and Camp Jackson (South Carolina) is available in the scrapbook. The book also contains some superb photographs of Golf in the 1920's and of Egg Rock, Table Rock and the Gullies near Davidson, N.C. Please see the individual listings for further information.
