Dr. Spencer served as president of Davidson College from 1968-1983. The interview with Dr. Sam Spencer on history of coeducation at Davidson during his presidency.

Interview with William F. Withers '39, 2000 October 25
William F. Withers '39 grew up in Davidson and graduated from Davidson College in 1939. Mr. Withers was a lifelong resident of Davidson and owned Withers Electric Company of Davidson. He was also a memeber of the Lions Club and Davidson College Presbyterian Church.
In this interview Mr. Withers mostly recalls his memories of the Town of Davidson.
