Scope and Contents
The files contain minutes, reports and correspondence with the committee as well as information on the Critical Language Program and the original Foreign Study Plan. The files also contain an evaluation of the foreign study plan which describes the operation of the Plan during its first two and a half years and assesses its strengths and weaknesses. Much of the committee files concern Junior Year Abroad programs directed by Davidson College. While there are separate files for correspondence, some correspondence is also included in the minute files. Annual reports are also included in the minute files.

Biographical / Historical
This committee, originally named the Foreign Study Committee, was created to consider and rule on policy governing the Davidson Junior Year Abroad Program and other foreign study plans. As a general policy, the Committee encouraged wide participation and facilitated obtaining credit for work done abroad. In 1974, the name was changed to the International Education Committee. The committee focused on study abroad programs and increasing international awareness on campus.
