Biographical / Historical

The committee was formed in the fall of 1996 by Deans Tom Shandley and Robert Williams. They were charged with evaluating the current state of the academic advising system which they saw as a critical component of the educational process at Davidson. Questions to be considered included: what should be the expectations for advisors?; should the effectiveness of advisors be evaluated?; what information and training would be useful and helpful to advisors?
