Scope and Contents

The records include minutes of the Pre-Medical Committee, correspondence and reports relating to the committee and the program, copies of the brochures that describe the Pre-Medicine Program, news releases about the program, evaluation forms used by professors when evaluating pre-med students, and a copy of the Guidebook to the Program in 1973. Also included are a ledger documenting medical school placements of Davidson students, statistics on applications and acceptances and annual reports of the Premedical Advisory Committee. E-mail correspondence, history, and a handout from Alpha Epsilon Delta (AED), the honors society, is also included.

The Pre-Medicine program at Davidson is one of several pre-professional programs designed to assist students who plan to continue their education at graduate or professional schools. The pre-medical program includes a pre-dentistry component. The Premedical Advisory Committee evaluates all premedical and predental students and prepares reports on the program.
