Scope and Contents
The collection contains membership information (1912-1967), which includes information about its founding members in 1912 and the final group of pledges in 1967. There is information about the group's house mother, Miss Johnsie Shelton, most of which is printed material from the celebration of her 10 years of service to the fraternity. The printed material includes certificates of scholastic merit and a copy of the White Diamond, the fraternity's pledge manual. There are a few copies of The Star and Lamp (1924-1965), the fraternity's national newsletter. There are copies of The Epsilonian (1934-1969), the Davidson chapter's newsletter. There are invitations from social functions (1942- 1960). There were three books with the collection: The White Diamond, 1962; The White Diamond, 1967; and the History and Directory of Pi Kappa Phi, 1929. These are temporarily housed in the Davidsoniana Room, case II. There is also a tambourine signed by members of the fraternity, housed in the Davidsoniana Room, case VI.

Biographical / Historical
The fraternity of Pi Kappa Phi was established at Davidson in 1912. It was re-established in 1924. The chapter lost its charter in 1971.
