The college consists of Feriba Thompson Stough's diary for 1935 to 1938. Daily entries include information about the weather and work or travel done that day. At the front of the diary, there are lists of family members and of deaths of friends and family. There is also a copy of a newletter with an article about the diary written by her granddaughter Mary Fetter Stough. (See DC0238s for her manuscript collection.)

The collection consists of photocopies of letters written by William to Mollie (Martha Stacey) between 1872 and 1882, letter from attorneys to Mrs. Banks in 1883, and family history notes. In the letters 1872-1875. he writes about his experiences at college and travels. Later letters are written during times when they were apart. The attorney's letter discusses estate issued and the family notes are primarily genealogical trees. There is one photograph of Withers as a young man.
