Scope and Contents
Oral history interview and transcript with Leslie Alvarado, Davidson College class of 2017. Alvarado grew up in Naples, FL before attending Davidson College as a mathematics major. In the interview, Alvarado discusses the STRIDE mentorship program, the presence of OLAS, the Bonner Scholars program, studying abroad in Ireland, bringing Latinx sororities and fraternities to campus, the presidential election, and how navigating predominantly white spaces impacted her as a woman of color. Alvarado touches on the changing demographics of the college and how that impacts the college experience for BIPOC students and Latinx students, in particular.
