Oral history interview with Ixzacil Marquez, Davidson College class of 2016. Marquez identifies as Mexican-American and is from Chicago, Illinois. Marquez was a Charles Scholar, as well as part of the STRIDE program, OLAS, and the Pre-Veterinarian club. In the interview, Marquez describes the difficult cultural transition from urban Chicago to rural Davidson, feelings of homesickness, microaggressions in the classroom, isolation in the STEM department as one of the few Latina students, ways of finding community, and her personal growth and accomplishments through and post-college.
