During World War II, Herbert Russell kept a scrapbook of his adventures with the Chapel Hour Concert Unit and his movement with the Chaplain's Office. The scrapbook contains photographs, brochures, and a brief history of this "military" unit. The collection consists of a four page typescript of his memoirs of his experiences at Davidson. It is entitled "Davidson College Contributed to WWII Victory" and provides some background on the college's role in military training as well as stories of training and social events.
