Scope and Contents During World War II, Herbert Russell kept a scrapbook of his adventures with the Chapel Hour Concert Unit and his movement with the Chaplain's Office. The scrapbook contains photographs, brochures, and a brief history of this "military" unit. Scope and Contents The collection consists of items from his high school years, clippings about his military service and death, some family correspondence, items from Davidson College, including hs diploma, and photographs.
Scope and Contents The collection consists of a four page typescript of his memoirs of his experiences at Davidson. It is entitled "Davidson College Contributed to WWII Victory" and provides some background on the college's role in military training as well as stories of training and social events. There is also a photograph of Mr. Kubeska in his military uniform c1943 and one with him standing in front of a plane.
Scope and Contents The collection consists of two letters. One was written in April 1941 to Elizabeth Proctor by her mother and discusses clothing and health. The other was written in October by G.D. Proctor to his mother while he was in the VA hospital in Roanoke, VA with references to war news and conditions.
Scope and Contents The bulk of the collection concerns Robert Zenas Johnston (1834-1908) and includes school notebooks from Davidson College and Columbia Theological Seminary, student essays, correspondence, his sermons (1859-1907) and speeches, and a photocopy of his diary (1886-1908) as well as a small amount of financial and printed materials.
