Biographical / Historical
Originally established as the Athletics and Physical Education Committee. It consisted of four members of the Faculty elected at large to staggered three-year terms, the Vice President of Academic Affairs, and the director of Athletics. The Student government was also invited to select one student to serve on the committee. This committee gave the Department of Athletics recommendations and outlined the Athletic Renamed as the Physical Education Committee in the late 1970s, the committee continued to oversee the physical education department and to discuss the grading systems for Physical education on a student's record at Davidson.
