Scope and Contents The collection consists of an original printed copy and a photocopy of the sermon Wallace preached in the Davidson College Chapel on 26 October 1845. The sermon was entitled "Diligence and Perseverance" and was published at the request of a student committee comprised of John W. McRae (class of 1846), Samuel Z. Williamson (Class of 1846) and Richard H. Johnston (class of 1849).
