Scope and Contents During his years as a student at Davidson, William Rule kept a scrapbook of significant events. Information is available on the scores of football/basketball/baseball/track/wrestling games from 1929-1932. Rule also kept his membership card to the Y.M.C.A. In addition, there are several ticket stubs to the Mid-Winters Dances. Rule really followed football in the 1930's, and there are a whole slew of newspaper articles on this sport. The collection consists of the handbooks from 1896 to 1961. The handbooks contain descriptions of the YMCA and its activities, academic calendars, advice for first-year students, and class yells. In the early years, the handbooks also contained the course schedule, directory of students and sports information.
