The sub-group contains interviews with long-time Davidson residents, select college faculty and staff, alumni/ae who called the area home, and representatives from community organizations.

James B. Alexander '38 and Mildred Cashion Alexander grew up in Mecklenburg County and married in 1936. Mr. Alexander graduated from Davidson College in 1938. In this interview James and Mildred recall their memories of North Mecklenburg and the Town of Davidson.

This oral history collection explores the untold stories of Asians and Asian Americans at Davidson College. The interviews were conducted in 2020 by Ashley Ip ’22 and Yashita Kandhari ’22. Dr. Sarah Waheed supported Ashley and Yashita’s work as their faculty advisor. The project was funded by the Stories (Yet) To Be Told grant initiative.
