James Logan Greenlee Letters

Scope and Contents The collection consists of letters written by Greenlee to his family discussing college life and a letter written to Greenlee from Charles Montgomery Payne, 1842-1900 (1863). In addition to the original letters, there are typescripts and a copy of the letter reporting Greenlee's death made by Mary M. Greenlee.

James Robert McMichael Diary

Scope and Contents In addition to the typescript of the diary, there is a brief biography and photocopies of two photographs: one of McMichael in uniform and one of his home near Buena Vista, Georgia. The diary recounts his experiences after capture, describing the conditions in the prisons and in traveling between the prisons. It also includes copies of letters he received while a prisoner and lists of prisoners and the Roll of Company K 12th Georgia regiment.

John Alexander Fleming Letters

Scope and Contents The collection consists of 3 letters. Two of the letters were written in 1856 by Fleming to his uncle, J. Harvey Greenlee, and discuss college life. The third letter was written by A. M. Erwin to report Fleming's death. In addition to the manuscript letters, the collection contains typescripts of the letters.

Scope and Contents The correspondence consists primarily of Blake's letters to the Board of Trustees concerning relations between the college and the Presbyteries. It also includes Blake's letter of resignation in 1884. The notebooks contains descriptions of Davidson College during the Civil War and research notes on energy, the Holtz machine, and astronomy.
